As a youngster, I spent every available minute I could on Otsego Lake, enjoying all it has to offer - from fishing and water skiing to sailing, canoeing, even scuba diving. I've explored nearly every foot of its banks, and eventually built a number of homes on its shoreline. I continue to offer my well-rounded knowledge of the Cooperstown area as a NYS licensed Real Estate agent.
My interest in photography began four decades ago, when my then soon-to-be wife gifted me my first camera as a wedding present. Fast forward to 2016, when I began to build and experiment with sUas (small Unmanned aerial systems, as defined by the FAA), otherwise known as drones, so I could get my camera in the air to capture unique perspectives. As time marches on, I routinely update my fleet as technology advances in terms of increased safety/reduced propeller noise and better image quality.
I am certified by the FAA as a sUas pilot and maintain a Part 107 license. I exercise extreme care while flying to minimize disturbances and to respect the privacy of all. My passion is two-fold, safe flying and creative aerial photography.

Many of my aerial images are comprised of multi-captures. As many as two hundred overlapping aerial photographs are captured and then stitched together to create large, high quality panoramas. Panoramas, which fully show a 360 degree scene, can be presented as "flat", very wide representations, or the image data can be manipulated to create unique views, referred to as "little planets" or "tiny planets". These unusual and interesting views are popular as each one compresses an entire vista into a compact, manageable image size for display purposes. And they're really cool, too!
Many of my Cooperstown photographs would be difficult or impossible to capture without the use of a flying camera. As examples, most of the images of ice are made when the surface is not safe to walk on, and wide pano's, taken above tree lines and Cooperstown, or over Otsego Lake would require the use of a helicopter (expensive and not environmentally friendly).

When I'm not flying and capturing aerial imagery of rustic , Otsego Lake, of the surrounding countryside, you might catch me on my vintage Chris Craft, cruising Otsego Lake. I hope you enjoy my work as much as I enjoy creating it.
